ANCPI: the number of transactions rose by nearly 10% in the first five months of 2016

Nearly 376,000 real estate transactions were registered nationwide in the first five months of 2016. Compared to the same period in 2015, their number rose by over 36,000, according to the latest report from the National Agency for Cadastre and Land Registration (ANCPI). Most contracts were registered in Bucharest and its surroundings (about 15% of the total).

Between January and May 2016, 375,897 real estate transactions were carried out nationwide, ANCPI representatives announce, over 36,000 more than in the same period last year. No less than 15% of these were concluded in Bucharest and its surroundings, while the lowest number was recorded in Bistrita-Nasaud county.
„The most real estate transactions, in the period January-May 2016, were registered in Bucharest – 36,794, Ilfov – 20,868, and Timis – 18,319. The counties where the fewest properties were traded in the same period are: Mehedinti – 3,570, Gorj – 3,432, and Bistrita-Nasaud – 3,119”, the ANCPI report states.
In May 2016, 79,228 properties were traded nationwide, a decrease of approximately 5,500 compared to the previous month. However, compared to the same month last year, the number increased by over 7,000, with the most being registered in the Capital and Ilfov (12,640) and Timis county (3,715).
In the first five months of the year, the number of mortgages and privileges registered in the land registry nationwide was 77,072, an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the same period of the previous year. At the same time, the number of cadastre and land registry operations performed nationwide is approximately 2.65 million, a decrease of 7,146 compared to the similar period of 2015.
„In the period January-May 2016, the most cadastre and real estate registration operations were recorded in Bucharest, Timis, and Ilfov, while the fewest operations were recorded in the counties of Gorj, Salaj, and Mehedinti”, the ANCPI report concludes.
