Public sector employees will receive a single holiday voucher worth 1,450 RON starting July 1st

Starting July 1st, public sector employees will receive a single holiday voucher worth 1,450 RON, stated the Minister of Tourism, Mircea-Titus Dobre, during a conference held at the Romanian Tourism Fair (TTR), which took place at Romexpo.
„Holiday vouchers are no longer repealed until December 31, 2017, as they were initially, but until July 1. Currently, the law lists six holiday vouchers, each worth the minimum wage. We will modify this ordinance that provides for six vouchers and introduce a single voucher, because the Romanian state can only afford this much. A single voucher, with the value of the minimum wage, namely 1,450 RON,” the minister specified.
He stated that after the amendments to the current legislation and the introduction of the new provisions, discussions will follow with representatives of the Ministry of Finance to establish the allocation procedure – online or standard, printed.
The vouchers can be used over a calendar year.
Stays in Romania purchased last year with holiday vouchers totaled approximately EUR 10 million, an amount nearly four times higher than in 2015 and six times higher than in 2014.
