The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, was present at the Festival “La Nistru la Mărgioară”, held in Serpeni, on the occasion of the Day of Popular Wearing. During the event, the Head of State conveyed a message of support for those who contribute to the preservation and promotion of the national cultural heritage.
Maia Sandu emphasized the important role of folklore, folk costumes and inherited customs in strengthening community identity and cohesion. “Tradition, folklore and love of our nation keep us united”, she said, appreciating the large participation of people from several regions of the country.
The President emphasized that cultural values do not only belong to the past, but are a living link between generations. “I thank those who carry on this treasure with care, passion and respect for the roots,” she said.
The festival brought together performers, folk ensembles and artisans from various corners of the Republic of Moldova, giving the public the opportunity to connect with local music, dances and traditions. The event was organized on the eve of the Day of Popular Costume, celebrated annually as a symbol of cultural identity and national heritage.
