Piatra-Neamț City Hall to Officially Promote the City as a Tourist Destination

Piatra-Neamţ City Hall will officially promote the city as a tourist destination. To this end, a series of preliminary steps have been taken to submit the certification file to the Ministry of Tourism to obtain the legal status of the Piatra-Neamţ Destination Management Organization (DMO).

This structure – the DMO – will be responsible for developing a professional strategy in the tourism sector.

Alexandru Filip is the proposed candidate for the position of manager of the Piatra-Neamţ DMO.

He is a graduate of the Faculty of Tourism at the University of Bucharest and holds a Master’s degree in the management of tourism activities and resources.

In 2012, he organized the “Prin Neamţ!” project in Piatra-Neamț, an info-trip involving tourism bloggers and influencers from across the country.

Alexandru Filip owns a guesthouse, a tourism marketing agency, a startup in the field, and is involved in a family agriculture business.

Piatra-Neamţ had approximately 50,000 tourists and 105,000 overnight stays in 2019, representing an average of 2.1 nights—above the county average of 1.9 but below the national average of 2.4.

The objective is to increase the average length of stay and, consequently, the volume of tourists.

Mayor Andrei Carabelea extended an invitation for dialogue and involvement to all HORECA representatives and industry business owners to develop the municipality of Piatra-Neamţ as a tourism destination.
