Sales recorded by the Paralela 45 travel agency throughout the Tourism Fair increased by nearly 50% compared to the same period last year, with Greece being the most sought-after destination. Nearly 60% of the packages purchased by tourists are for the Greek islands, especially Mykonos and Santorini, via charter flights or individual transport.
Circuits were also in demand during the fair, with the most accessed being those in spring and summer to destinations such as: India, Russia, Israel, and Jordan, as well as European capitals.
Social and senior tourism also recorded increases, especially offers for Spain and Turkey, but also Bulgaria. The best-selling offers were Madeira (Portugal), Istanbul, Cappadocia and the Mediterranean Riviera, Costa Brava, Sicily, and Tuscany.
For Easter, the most sought-after offers were those in Bulgaria, Romania, and Antalya, but Romanians also chose to spend the Holy Holidays in Krakow, Croatia, or Tuscany.
Alin Burcea, the owner of the Paralela 45 travel agency, estimates a turnover of 44-45 million EUR for this year, an increase of 10-12% compared to 2014.
