Between March 12-15, the spring edition of the Romanian Tourism Fair took place at Romexpo, featuring over 260 exhibitors across 11,700 sqm and 34 international companies. Over the 4 days, the fair was visited by 21,795 people.
Aurelian Marin, president of the National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT), stated that the most requested were traditional destinations: Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, and Turkey. Early booking reservations were impressive this year and, implicitly, during the fair, being much higher than in 2014.
Marin specified that the star of the seaside remains the Mamaia resort; however, an increase is also observed for the Southern area, where offers for families with children were particularly well-received.
The best-selling packages were charters to destinations like Greece, Turkey, Spain, and Egypt. Summer charter rates had discounts of up to 35-40%, making them attractive to the public.
According to Romexpo data, circuits in China, Antarctica, and South Africa were also in high demand.
Bogdan Stefan, general manager of Genius Travel, noted that the “Danube Delta for All” program was launched during the fair. Prices start from 349 RON for two-night packages with all meals included at the 3-star Genius Delta Resort. The price includes transport from Bucharest by coach and boat to Uzlina.
