Orhideea Residence & Spa Measures and Offsets Annual Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Orhideea Residence & Spa, the largest Aparthotel and Spa in Bucharest, has signed a 2-year contract with Allcot Group from Switzerland to measure and offset its annual greenhouse gas emissions.
Measuring the carbon footprint and offsetting CO2 emissions is part of a broader sustainable development strategy by the tourism operator, which has already involved replacing incandescent bulbs with energy-efficient LEDs, as well as waste sorting and improving paper usage within the company.
All these cumulative actions taken by the accommodation unit resulted in an amount of 15 kg of CO2 per night, which is less than half of the Romanian national average for hotel CO2 emissions.
The project chosen by Orhideea Residence & Spa to offset unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions is a forestry project that protects the forest as well as the fauna in that area.
Orhideea Residence & Spa is the largest Aparthotel and Spa in Bucharest, offering 80 apartments with 1 or 2 bedrooms, fully equipped with a kitchen, living room, and balcony, ranging in size from 80 sqm to 316 sqm per apartment. The spa center spans over 3,000 sqm and includes a full range of body and facial treatments, hamam, saunas, Kneipp baths, salt room, swimming pool, and fitness.
