OPTBR and desprespa.ro Launch “Romania Balneara” Project

With an estimated 10%-12% increase in the number of spa tourists in 2020, the Romanian Spa Tourism Office (OPTBR) and the website desprespa.ro have launched the “Romania Balneara” project, the largest campaign supporting Romanian balneology, aimed at promoting Romania’s natural healing resources and the country’s over 160 spa resorts.
The „Romania Balneara” campaign has the mission to create visibility for the country’s natural healing resources, spa locations, and their prevention and treatment programs, stated Nicu Radulescu, President of OPTBR.
28 spa resorts in Romania have already joined the Romania Balneara campaign.
They will create special therapy and treatment programs designed for active, young people with diverse needs.
In 2019, over 1.8 million tourists spent more than 288 million EUR on spa treatments and therapies in Romanian resorts, with an average health stay price of 797 RON per person.
