New Timișoara Airport Terminal to Include Shopping Center
The building permit and site organization for the new External Departures terminal at Timișoara Airport have been issued, and the order to commence work will be given on November 1st.
The new terminal will have a built area of 12,000 sqm, 6 security filters, 8 boarding gates, 18 check-in counters, and 6 automatic document scanning gates. The construction will complement the External Arrivals terminal, which has been in operation since July 2021. The completion deadline is December 31, 2023.
The contract is valued at over 90 million RON and was awarded to the contractor SC Concelex SRL from Bucharest. According to Director Stamatovici, the new terminal will also feature numerous commercial spaces, restaurants, and cafes, with discussions with operators already underway.
