New HoReCa Support Scheme to Start After July 1st

The new support scheme for the HoReCa industry, covering losses suffered during the pandemic last year, will be implemented only after July 1st, specifically after this year’s first budget rectification, announced the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Constantin-Daniel Cadariu.

On February 16, the Government approved an emergency ordinance providing the legislative framework for launching the HoReCa 2 support scheme.

However, Minister Cadariu pointed out that the new scheme lacks funding in this year’s budget and its financing can only be ensured following the first budget rectification of 2022.

According to the minister, the amounts estimated by HoReCa for 2021 losses are one-third of the damages recorded in 2020, which were quantified at EUR 800 million.

In January, the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Constantin-Daniel Cadariu, announced that the HoReCa aid scheme would be closed in January, as there were funds allocated in the budget, specifying that a first payment of approximately 46% of the value was made for each beneficiary in December.
