Nadia Comăneci opens Singureni Manor Polo Cup 2026

Nadia Comăneci will officially open the third edition of the Singureni Manor Polo Cup international equestrian polo tournament, scheduled to take place on September 25–27, 2026, at Singureni Manor Equestrian Retreat. Her presence as the guest of honor comes as 2026 was established by law as the “Nadia Comăneci Year”, marking 50 years since she achieved the first perfect 10.00 in gymnastics history at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games.

The competition, supported by World Polo, returns following two sold-out editions and will feature four teams, two of which will compete in Romania for the first time. The host team Singureni Manor Polo Club will compete on the field alongside Norddeutscher Polo Club (Germany), Las Hermanas (Argentina), and Red Star Polo Team (Great Britain). For the host team, led by Cristina Roșu and winner of the 2025 trophy, the 2026 edition marks a premiere by including two Romanian players, as the captain is joined by Cosmin Ghiță, a product of the Singureni Polo School. The Singureni Manor estate, situated in a forest spanning approximately 700 hectares 40 kilometers outside Bucharest, integrates dedicated infrastructure consisting of a grass polo field, Paul’s Clubhouse, lodging facilities, and a dining experience curated by Chef Alexandru Dumitru.
