An official delegation from the Republic of Moldova is on a working visit to Switzerland from June 29 to July 4, dedicated to strengthening bilateral cooperation and taking over best practices in the field of sustainable tourism. The delegation includes representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the National Office of Tourism and the General Directorate of Economy, Trade and Tourism of the Chisinau Municipal Council, MOLDPRES reports.
“The topics discussed during the meetings focused on effective models of governance and strategic planning in tourism; policies of sustainability and protection of cultural and natural heritage; marketing and branding strategies at international level; involvement of local communities and the private sector; identification of opportunities for joint Moldovan-Swiss projects. In addition to the working sessions, the Moldovan delegation will visit several model regions in Switzerland where tourism is successfully integrated into the local economy. These examples of good practice can be adapted in the Republic of Moldova, especially in rural areas and areas with ecotourism potential”, explains the National Tourism Office.
The agenda of the visit includes in-depth discussions with prestigious Swiss institutions such as the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), tourism organizations and structures that contribute to positioning Switzerland as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world. The visit is a concrete step towards the development of sustainable tourism, oriented towards quality, heritage and international cooperation. Tourism can become a strategic pillar in local development and a solid bridge between Moldova and Switzerland, summarizes the source.
