Moldova aligns air traffic monitoring with EU standards

The Government of the Republic of Moldova has approved a regulation introducing a performance scheme for air traffic management and air navigation, in line with the European Single European Sky (SES) initiative.

The new framework sets performance indicators, clear objectives and assessment and reporting procedures, with the aim of enhancing flight safety and the quality of civil aviation services.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development says that the measure will gradually ensure compatibility with EU standards, so that European standards can be fully implemented by the time Moldova joins the EU.

Targeted benefits include increased aviation safety, better operational efficiency, reduced delays and increased passenger confidence in air transport.
