According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Waters and Forests, several beach operators were sanctioned with 21 fines totaling 120,000 RON during an inspection by Minister Ioan Denes on the beaches of the southern Black Sea coast.
Teams consisting of inspectors from the National Administration “Romanian Waters” (ANAR) and the Dobrogea-Litoral Water Basin Administration (ABA-DL) have been checking the exploitation of beach sectors since June 16, with the actions set to conclude on August 25, 2019.
According to the statement, the main objectives checked by the inspectors are: the sanitation and hygiene status of the beach sectors; ensuring a sufficient number of waste collection containers; the alignment of facilities/constructions with the PUZ (Zonal Urban Plan) provisions regarding beach arrangement; and respecting the intervention zone, a 5-meter wide strip from the waterline along the entire length of the beach sector.
