Ministry of Economy to establish coordination center for investment projects in Carpathian resorts

The Ministry of Economy is working on a draft normative act to establish a coordination center for investment projects in the Carpathian resorts.
The team, which will consist of five people, will also handle the promotion of tourism in the Carpathians both domestically and, especially, abroad, stated Claudiu Vrinceanu, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Economy.
Vrinceanu specified that mountain resorts are the only destination in Romania where all source markets are growing: the number of tourists from Israel has doubled, Germany saw a 28.4% increase, the number of tourists from Italy rose by 27.5%, those from the UK by 29.3%, while 24.5% more tourists came from France, and 29.7% more from Poland. Spain had a slightly smaller increase of 9.8%.
The center will become functional in October and will coordinate all activities specific to a project management unit, from the implementation and administration of projects from national and external funding sources in the future, to the promotion of mountain destinations.
