MEDAT launches the “ANTREPRENOR START UP NATION 2024” funding project

The Ministry of Economy, Digitization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism is launching the “Entrepreneur Start-Up Nation 2024” (ID 342997), a broad project aimed at supporting people who want to start their own business.

The program, run in partnership with the SME and tourism agencies in Brasov, Constanta and Ploiesti, as well as the Special Telecommunications Service, aims to develop the entrepreneurial environment in less developed regions of Romania.

Main objectives of the program:

  • Entrepreneurship training for approx. 4,600 people through free courses.
  • Providing grants to around 2,500 start-ups set up by graduates of these courses.
  • Creating at least 5,000 jobs in new businesses.

The project has a total value of RON 748.6 million, of which RON 636.3 million comes from ESF+ and RON 112.3 million is co-funding from the state budget.

The program will run for a period of 5 years (September 2024 – August 2029) and aims to contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the national economy by stimulating private initiative.
