According to a bill promulgated by President Klaus Iohannis, individuals will have access to the beach accompanied by pets as a general rule outside the summer season, but also during the summer season, in the latter case with the consent of the operators of beaches used for tourism purposes.
The bill had been adopted by Parliament, through the final vote of the deputies, in mid-February.
Currently, on the Black Sea coast beaches used for tourism purposes, access for individuals accompanied by animals is prohibited, with the exception of dogs belonging to the Ministry of Administration and Interior and service dogs for people with disabilities.
Thus, the new law regulates the access of pets to the beach, complying with a set of rules designed to ensure the cleanliness of the environment and the safety of everyone on the beach. Additionally, beach operators are allowed to decide whether, during the summer season, individuals may be accompanied by pets.
