Located just a few kilometers from the municipality of Cahul, in the village of Cotihana, the “La Cotihana” rest and leisure base is now open to visitors.
Behind this business stands Nicolae Căpraru. Together with his wife, he manages this complex, which has become a true sanctuary for visitors, being situated in the middle of nature.
“In 2020, during the pandemic, nature-based accommodation services were highly sought after. At that time, we realized our area could offer this service,” says Nicolae Căpraru.
With the support of the “EU4Moldova: Key Regions” program, funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the entrepreneur managed to diversify his range of services.
The entrepreneur built four residential cottages, three of which were supported by the “EU4Moldova: Key Regions” program. Guests choosing to stay at “La Cotihana” have their own outdoor kitchen, and for children, the entrepreneur has set up a playground complex.
The entrepreneur benefited from support through the grant competition for entrepreneurs within the Local Action Group “Cişmeaua Sudului” and the “VIA Cahul” tourism cluster, financially supported by the “EU4Moldova: Key Regions” program, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP and UNICEF.
