Karpaten is investing EUR 5 million to transform a historic building in Bistrița into a four-star hotel.
The Karpaten tourism group, owned by the Mărginean family and which includes the eponymous travel agency and several hotels, is carrying out a €5 million investment to renovate an old building in Bistrița. The building will be converted into a four-star hotel.
“For the hotel in Bistrița we already have the building permit and the first stage has been completed. We have rehabilitated the facade and renovated the commercial spaces on the ground floor, where a Karpaten agency is already operating,” said Alexandru Mărginean, Karpaten’s general manager.
Founded in 1996 by Gheorghe Marginean, Karpaten Turism operates both in the outgoing and incoming tourism segments, being one of the most important agencies in Romania.
The group also includes the Karpaten Hotels division, which manages the Piemonte hotel in Predeal and Casa Bazna, located near Mediaș, Sibiu county. The new hotel in Bistrița will have 45 rooms and will serve both individual tourists and groups of foreign visitors managed by the incoming division.
