Hotel Triumf has returned to RA-APPS administration

The Palace of Parliament has been designated as the venue to host informal meetings, other than the official ones organized in Brussels, during the Romanian presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2019.
The authorities’ decision comes after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs failed to find funds for the renovation of Hotel Triumf, which had been allocated to it for the presidency preparations.
At the end of last year, Hotel Triumf was transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MAE, to be renovated as a headquarters and to host the Romanian EU presidency in 2019.
Last week, however, the Government decided that the Autonomous Administration of State Protocol Heritage, RA-APPS, should take over the hotel’s administration again, as MAE cited high costs and did not invest in its rehabilitation.
