Ana Hotels Establishes “International Management Hotels” Division Led by Alexandra Copos

Alexandra Copos, daughter of businessman George Copos, will prioritize the Athenee Palace Hilton hotel in the immediate period, coordinating and directly controlling the hotel’s activity to position it competitively against major hotel chains.
To this end, the “International Management Hotels” division was established within Ana Hotels, which currently includes only the Athenee Palace Hilton hotel and is headed by Alexandra Copos.
In March 2016, Alexandra Copos resigned from the position of President and CEO of Athenee Palace SA, the company that owns the 5-star Athenee Palace Hilton hotel in Bucharest.
Last year, Ana Hotels announced a series of investments totaling EUR 20 million in the Athenee Palace Hilton hotel for the complete renovation of rooms—a process to be carried out over a 3-year period starting in 2017—as well as the construction of a new hotel wing with approximately 70 rooms behind the current Athenee Palace Hilton, and a 900 sqm conference hall.
The main shareholders of Athenee Palace SA are the Ana Hotels group, owned by George Copos, with 41.58% of the shares, and Tehnofrig Palace SA with 19.07%.
