The sale of the 4-star Orizont hotel in Predeal to the Alexandrion group has been canceled after the buyer failed to pay the agreed price in full. The shareholders of the owner company, FEPER SA, controlled by Transilvania Investments Alliance, will decide this fall to put the asset back on the market.
The deal, initialed in December 2024 for RON 52.2 million, fell through after Hotel New Montana (part of the Alexandrion Group) paid only a deposit of RON 2.6 million, without transferring the balance by the deadline of May 15, 2025. The deal’s cancellation also comes in the context of the death of businessman Nawaf Salameh, owner of Alexandrion Group, in April 2025.
Currently, the hotel is directly managed by a FEPER representative, Paul Alexandru-Palases, after the mandate of the previous operator, The Makers, expired in May. Under the management of The Makers, the complex underwent partial upgrades to the elevators, lobby, main restaurant and conference rooms.
Even in the face of uncertainty, the hotel’s performance remains solid. In the first semester of 2025, the Orizont complex generated revenues of approximately RON 7 million, at 46% occupancy and more than 10,000 tourists. Over half of the revenues came from the restaurant segment. Compared to the same period in 2024, the number of tourists increased by 8.91%, reinforcing the attractiveness of the property.
The Horizon complex includes:
- 139 rooms (260 beds) classified 4 stars;
- Restaurant Orizont and traditional restaurant Miorița;
- Lobby bar, Sky Lounge and wine cellar;
- Conference center with 4 meeting rooms and a wellness center.
In addition to the hotel in Predeal, FEPER also owns the Central Hotel in Ploiești (4 stars, 166 rooms).
