HoReCa operators will cover the costs of rapid tests for customers at the entrance of locations, so that prices for customers are not affected, representatives of the Employers’ Organization of Hotels and Restaurants in Romania (HORA) and the Federation of the Hotel Industry in Romania (FIHR) have stated.
HORA President, Dragos Petrescu, specified that the number of those who will be tested at the entrance will not be very high, as some Romanians have been vaccinated, and others can prove they have recovered from the disease.
At the same time, FIHR President, Calin Ile, maintained that operators will not transfer the costs of rapid testing at the entrance of establishments to customers.
On the other hand, the FIHR president emphasized that HoReCa employees will not be forced to get vaccinated. With as many vaccinated HoReCa employees as possible, we will signal that we are a safe industry. We cannot force them, of course not, and as we become a safe industry, we will be able to lift restrictions sooner, with the June 1st timeframe as a common goal. If things go better, this deadline can be brought forward; we hope things do not go worse, because everyone is mobilized, stated Calin Ile.
In this context, HORA representative Dragos Petrescu mentioned that HoReCa employees will have priority for vaccination.
The European Commission has set May 14th as the completion date for the green certificate, so that we can benefit from a single database in such a way that any vaccinated Romanian citizen can be easily identified and can prove they are vaccinated.
Calin Ile also specified that in Romania there will be no limitation on internal travel based on the digital green certificate to be approved by the European Union on May 14th, but the country will adopt this certificate for international travel, stated Calin Ile, president of the Federation of the Hotel Industry in Romania, FIHR.
