On January 11, the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Constantin Daniel Cadariu, announced that the HORECA aid scheme will be closed in January, as funds have been allocated in the budget. He specified that a first payment of approximately 46% of the value was made for each beneficiary in December.

The Minister of Entrepreneurship and Tourism stated that 2.5 billion RON were initially allocated, and there were over ten thousand requests.

“8,300 requests were eligible, the contracting process was completed, and the total amount required was 2.2 billion RON, 300 million RON less than initially estimated. A first payment of approximately 46% of the value, called pro-rata, was made for each beneficiary, and because there was 1 billion RON in the ministry’s accounts in December, the payments were made,” stated Constantin Daniel Cadariu. At the same time, the minister stated that the difference of 1.2 billion RON was included in this year’s budget.

The minister also specified that he will have a discussion with the Minister of the Environment regarding the beach in the Mamaia resort to find a legal solution, given that the land is currently not registered in the land registry.
