The fact that the Romanian Government uses HoReCa as a motivating factor for increasing the number of vaccinated people has a major negative impact on the industry, with sales decreasing by an average of 30%, stated Daniel Mischie, president of the HORA employers’ organization.
Mischie estimates another drop in sales of 20 – 30% after access to restaurants will no longer be allowed based on a test. He believes that industry staff is vaccinated in a proportion of over 85% and the process continues.
The Government adopted, on October 2, the proposal of the National Committee for Emergency Situations, according to which only vaccinated persons or those recovered from COVID are allowed in restaurants, weddings, baptisms or cinemas. Practically, rapid and PCR tests were removed.
In localities where the incidence exceeds 6 per thousand inhabitants, weddings and baptisms are allowed only for vaccinated or recovered persons, up to 50% of the maximum capacity of the space, but no more than 200 people.
In restaurants, bars, cinemas and performance institutions, access is allowed for vaccinated or recovered persons, up to 50% of the maximum capacity of the space, with the wearing of a protective mask, between 5:00 – 24:00.
