The U.S. Department of Transportation has granted HiSky the Foreign Air Carrier Permit, following the successful completion of all verification and authorization stages.
Thus, HiSky becomes the only airline in Romania holding the right to operate regular passenger flights from Europe to any destination in the United States of America.
After obtaining the authorization, HiSky is preparing to launch the first direct transoceanic flights departing from Romania in more than 20 years.
The aircraft, an Airbus A330, was painted in the company’s colors at a maintenance base in Ireland and carries the registration YR-KID.
With the arrival of the eighth aircraft in its fleet, HiSky reaches a capacity of over 1,500 seats. In the spring of this year, the airline acquired two other new aircraft, Airbus A321neo LR, with a flight range of 7,400 km.
In the winter season, HiSky operates regular and connecting flights from airports in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Baia Mare, and Chișinău to 26 domestic and international destinations.
