In the last weeks, Harghita County has been the host of extensive tourist and cultural promotion activities, carried out with the support of the Harghita Intercommunal Development Association, through the Visit Harghita brand. These initiatives are part of the efforts to strengthen the county’s image, in the context of its designation as the Gastronomic Region of Europe in 2027.
The first Info Trip, entitled “Spring in Harghita County”, had as guests the members of the Tourism Press Club – FIJET Romania. The main aim of this event was to increase the visibility of the region among the general public and specialized press. During the four days, participants explored spectacular landscapes, visited local producers and tasted traditional dishes, thus discovering the local culinary heritage as a defining element of the county’s tourist identity.
The second press visit is scheduled for May 30 and is part of the national project “Romania Attractive”, which promotes cultural routes and authentic experiences from all regions of the country. The group of participants includes 19 people: international journalists from Bulgaria, Hungary and Italy, together with content creators from Romania. The program of the visit includes heritage sights such as the Adorján Imre Manor House, the Roman-Catholic Church in Cârța, the Lázár Castle and the Pišččský workshop in Corund, as well as moments dedicated to local gastronomy through traditional culinary experiences.
The “Attractive Romania” project is part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), financed by European funds, with a deadline set for June 30, 2026. More details can be found at LINK.
