Grand Hotel du Boulevard to be Affiliated with the Corinthia Luxury Hotel Chain

One of the most beautiful and oldest buildings in Bucharest, Grand Hotel du Boulevard, will be transformed into a luxury hotel and affiliated with the Corinthia hotel chain. The hotel will feature 60-70 rooms and will be classified as a 5-star establishment.

According to market information, the managers of Grand Hotel du Boulevard have already signed a franchise agreement with the Corinthia hotel chain.

Contacted by Profit.ro and asked if they would enter the Romanian market through a franchise agreement with Grand Hotel du Boulevard,

Corinthia representatives hinted that the information is accurate, while limiting their statement to: “We will make an announcement shortly and provide the press with new information (additional news) soon.”

In turn, representatives of Grand Hotel du Boulevard refused to comment on the information regarding the signing of the franchise agreement with Corinthia.

To date, 15 million EUR has been invested in the Boulevard building. The former hotel is fully renovated, but the interior floors are currently open-space and do not have separate rooms.

The owner of the hotel is Nicolae Dumitru, who also owns the Niro Group.

Grand Hotel du Boulevard is one of the oldest hotels in Bucharest, built by the architect of the University of Bucharest building, Alexandru Orascu, starting in 1867. The hotel opened its doors to the public in 1873 under the name Hotel Herdan, which was changed in 1877 to Grand Hotel du Boulevard.
