The Government is extending the deadline for suspending garnishments and enforcement actions carried out by ANAF until October 25, announced Finance Minister Florin Cîțu. The current deadline is June 25.
At the beginning of June, Parliament adopted a similar decision, which postponed the deadline, however, only until September 1, 2020.
At the same time, Cîțu stated that the facility for the HoReCa industry will also be extended until October 25, but without providing details.
The HoReCa sector, hotels and restaurants, benefited from an exemption from paying the specific tax for the duration that the activity was totally or partially restricted as a result of the measures taken by the authorities to limit the spread of the coronavirus epidemic.
The normative act providing for the extension of the deadline for garnishments/executions until October 25, as well as the facility granted for the specific tax, will be discussed again in the Government meeting on June 15. At the end of May, the Government extended the previous June 15 deadline to June 25, until which ANAF does not start foreclosure procedures. The authorities had decided, in the context of the measures taken in the context of the coronavirus epidemic, to suspend foreclosure by garnishment for budgetary claims, with the exception of foreclosures for claims established by court rulings in criminal matters, until 30 days after the expiration of the state of emergency, i.e., until June 15.
