Starting June 26, 2015, for 10 days, the Tourism Law Project was under public debate on the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Tourism (MECT) website under the Decision-making Transparency section. On Friday, June 3, 2015, address no. 737 regarding the FPTR viewpoint on this project was submitted to MECT.
FPTR considers the draft law incoherent, published without consulting tourism employer associations. FPTR is the only representative employer federation in Romanian tourism, which has been actively involved in drafting a Tourism Law project since 2013. Therefore, FPTR requests the immediate withdrawal of the project from the ministry’s website and an administrative investigation into the employees who drafted the project, as they have compromised the ministry’s image and the government’s measures for the progressive growth of income and efficiency in Romanian tourism.
