First Home Program Accelerates in 2015

Requests for housing through the “First Home” government program have increased by 30% compared to the same period last year, with an average rate of 220 requests per day, compared to 120 per day recorded last year. Along with this increase, in the first months of this year, the average financing also rose by 4%, reaching 37,000 euros.
The National Credit Guarantee Fund recommends that those interested conclude sale-purchase pre-contracts for a minimum of 30 days. Interested parties should also double-check the content of the files submitted for approval to avoid restarting the analysis procedure.
First Home has a ceiling of 2.64 billion lei this year. Since the program’s debut in 2009, FNGCIMM has granted nearly 139,000 guarantees, worth 11.6 billion lei, for accessed loans totaling approximately 23 billion lei.
