Find out how many tourists spent their mini-vacation in Romania and their total spending

According to a press release from the Federation of Romanian Tourism Employers (FPTR), the number of Romanians who spent the May 1st and Easter mini-vacation in the country increased by 52% compared to the same periods in 2012. 
Romanians spent over 51 million RON on tourism services alone and over 35 million RON on entertainment during this mini-vacation, according to FPTR data. 
According to FPTR, for Easter, the majority of tourists chose rural areas in Romania as their destination, with guesthouses recording over 65,000 tourists.
Mountain resorts were chosen for the Easter holidays by approximately 25,000 tourists, double the number from last year. Accommodation units in the Prahova Valley were 70-80% occupied, while in other mountain resorts, the occupancy rate was up to 70%.
On the coast, after May 1st, about 16,000 tourists remained to spend Easter, while 10,000 tourists spent Easter in spa resorts, a figure identical to last year.
The Danube Delta was chosen by approximately 2,500 tourists for the May 1st and Easter mini-vacation, two and a half times more than last year.
Over 12,000 Romanians chose to spend this mini-vacation abroad, spending a total of 2.3 million EUR. Over 7,000 Romanians chose Bulgaria as their destination, where they spent 630,000 EUR, followed by Hungary and Turkey, with 600 Romanian tourists each.
According to FPTR, the figures are approximate and were obtained based on data provided by the www.RezEx.ro reservation system, estimates provided by ANTREC, OPTBR, and FPTR members, as well as a survey applied to a significant number of tourism operators.
