EUR 80 million investments in five new hotels expand accommodation market in Iasi

Iasi’s hotel market will benefit from cumulative investments estimated between 75 and 80 million euros, which will add 670 new rooms to the city’s modern accommodation capacity. Five major projects, backed by local investors and regional groups, are scheduled to open between 2028-2029, responding to growing demand from the corporate, medical tourism and events segments.

The expansion includes four- and five-star developments. The announced projects are Hotel Brizo (5-star, 150 rooms, Cableways investor), Continental Forum (4-star, 153 rooms, Continental Hotels), a hotel within the Silk District real estate project (160 rooms, Prime Capital), Three Sarmale Inn (4-star, 102 rooms, Fio Group) and Breazu Forrest (4-star, 100 rooms, Buz Residence). The Brizo project will mark the market entry of the first five-star hotel of this investment wave. Some projects, such as the Continental Forum, are still in the process of obtaining construction permits.

Although this wave of investment will transform Iasi’s business and luxury accommodation offer and strengthen the city’s position as a regional hub, a peculiarity of the local market remains the absence of major international hotel chains. Despite a recognized shortage of accommodation and the interest previously shown by operators such as Radisson Blu, global brands continue to bypass the city, with development mainly supported by local private capital.
