The Dâmbovița County Council and the South Muntenia Regional Development Agency (ADR) have signed the financing contract for the rehabilitation and modernization of mountain road DJ 714, an investment valued at EUR 74.56 million. The project is the largest in the history of the county and the South Muntenia region for county roads, aiming to develop the infrastructure toward the Peștera – Padina Resort.
The works foresee the modernization of a length of 19.14 km and setting a road width of approximately 9 meters. Along the route, 37 sections affected by landslides were identified, where consolidation works will take place. DJ 714 provides the connection to the Moroeni Sanatorium and the Peștera – Padina national interest tourist area. Currently and during the execution of the works, the road will be closed to traffic, notes Agerpres.
The President of the Dâmbovița County Council, Corneliu Ștefan, specified that the work commencement order is expected by the end of the year, with the project having a completion deadline of three and a half years. A second stage will include building a new road that will bypass the village of Glod and connect to DN 71, with the feasibility study already completed.
The Director of ADR Sud Muntenia, Liviu Mușat, emphasized that Dâmbovița County ranks first in the region by the value of signed contracts, at EUR 0.61 billion, holding a lead of nearly EUR 57.35 million over Argeș County. At the same time, Dâmbovița also leads in the value of submitted projects, with EUR 0.99 billion (22% of the regional total), ahead of Prahova County (EUR 0.88 billion) and Argeș County (EUR 0.86 billion).
