The Brașov – Făgăraș highway project has made significant progress with the issuance of the environmental agreement for the 49.3-kilometer route. The announcement was made by Cristian Pistol, the general director of CNAIR, marking the completion of a key stage and the preparation of the project for final technical-economic approvals.
Three road junctions (Codlea Sud, Codlea Nord, and Șercaia) will be built along the route of the future highway, alongside 49 bridges, passages, and viaducts. The infrastructure will also include an S3-type service area, a short-term parking lot, and a Maintenance and Coordination Center. Additionally, the project includes three cut-and-cover gallery structures, with a total length of about 800 meters, which will function as ecoducts.
The next stage involves submitting the Feasibility Study to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure for approval by the Technical-Economic Council. Subsequently, the documentation will be sent for approval to the Interministerial Council, in order to issue the Government Decision for the approval of the technical-economic indicators.
