In this year’s season, a new gondola lift will be inaugurated in Sinaia on the Cota 1400 – Cota 2000 section.
For the construction of the gondola, Transport Urban Sinaia, the company managing the Sinaia ski area, contracted a €7.6 million loan from Bancpost.
Mayor Vlad Oprea stated that the new gondola will be completed by the start of the ski season in December this year.
In Sinaia, investments of €35 million have been carried out from 2007 to the present for several objectives, including the gondola, chairlift, snow groomers, and chalets, with the resort benefiting from a total of €50 million in EU funds.
This year, Sinaia will also benefit from a €20,000 promotion campaign, conducted over a 9-month period, which includes participation in international tourism fairs in London and Berlin. The campaign will promote the ski area, the bike resort with mountain bike trails, as well as the existence of public transport and parking spaces.
Approximately 150,000 tourists visit Sinaia annually during the ski season (December-May), 30% of whom are foreigners.
