DraculaLand: Project exceeding €1 billion for an entertainment and technology destination near Bucharest

A private project exceeding €1 billion, named DraculaLand, has been announced and is planned for development on a 160-hectare area near Bucharest, located 20 minutes from the city and 15 minutes from Otopeni Airport. The developers aim to create Europe’s largest integrated destination for entertainment, retail, and technology, estimating an economic impact of approximately €5 billion over the next ten years.

EXACT LOCATION

The multifunctional complex will include seven main components. The DraculaLand theme park will span over 780,000 sqm, featuring six immersive zones and over 40 attractions. A multifunctional arena of around 80,000 sqm built area, with a capacity of 22,500 seats, will host concerts, festivals, and esports competitions. The retail segment will be covered by a luxury outlet for fashion and interior decorations, with over 70 brands, developed in partnership with Piuarch Milano and The Mall Firenze Team. Accommodation capacity indicates a total of 1,200 rooms across three themed hotels (4 star, 3 star +, and 3 star). The project also includes an Aqua Park & Thermal Spa of approximately 50,000 sqm, with over 30 attractions, a 4.5 km racetrack, and a 15,000 sqm technology hub for startups in the gaming and artificial intelligence fields.

In addition to the physical infrastructure, DraculaLand will develop a “digital twin” in the metaverse, utilizing the Unreal Engine 5 graphics engine. This digital component will allow real-time integration with events in the physical park and will include its own token (DraculaCoin), NFT systems, and personalized artificial intelligence avatars. According to founder Dragoș Dobrescu, DraculaLand is “a national project – a symbol that Romania can and must build landmarks, not just buildings.” Initial estimates indicate the creation of over 5,000 jobs and the attraction of approximately 3 million visitors annually in the first phase of operation.
