Danubius Hotel Group estimates €8 million turnover for Sovata hotel complex

The Hungarian Danubius Hotel Group estimates a turnover of €8 million, a 20% increase, from its hotel complex in Sovata, where tourists come for spa treatments based on salt water and mud from Lake Ursu, considered the „Dead Sea of Transylvania.”

The tourist complex consists of the 4-star Danubius Health Spa Resort Sovata, the 4-star Danubius Health Spa Resort Bradet, and the 2-star Hotel Faget, which have a total of 800 accommodation places in double rooms.
In 2015, 43,000 tourists stayed within the complex, of which 12,000 were foreign tourists.
In the 2013-2014 period, the Danubius Group invested €7 million in Romania to modernize the 2-star Bradet hotel, which became the 4-star Danubius Health Spa Resort Bradet.
The owners are planning new investments in the renovation of Hotel Faget and the construction of an outdoor swimming pool, as well as improvements to the Lake Ursu beach area.
The complex features 4 fresh and salt water pools, a jacuzzi, a Kneipp circuit, a fitness room, a sauna, an aroma-sauna, as well as children’s pools. Additionally, adults can undergo gynecological treatments, anti-psoriasis dermatological treatments, cosmetics, and individual or group gymnastics sessions, indoors or outdoors.
The three Danubius Group hotels are located less than 200 meters from Lake Ursu, the only heliothermal lake in Europe. Its high salinity has earned it the nickname „Dead Sea of Transylvania.”
Danubius Hotels Group is the largest provider of spa services in Central Europe, with a portfolio of 56 hotels in Hungary, Great Britain, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Romania. Between 2003 and 2014, the group invested €21.4 million in Romania.
