CMB Travel agency recorded a turnover of 4 million EUR last year, and for this year, it estimates sales of nearly 5 million EUR.
Among the top exotic destinations requested by the agency’s clients are Thailand, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico; the budget allocated for a holiday in these destinations amounts to 2,000 EUR/person.
Demand has also been increasing for holidays in Mauritius, the Caribbean Islands, Sri Lanka, and Cuba, stated Roxana Balcescu, the general manager of CMB Travel.
The agency will also focus this year on bringing foreigners for holidays in Romania.
Last year, Romanians spent 3.1 billion euros abroad, compared to 1.9 billion euros in 2016, according to data from the BNR, while foreigners left 2.2 billion euros in the country last year, compared to 1.56 billion euros a year ago.
