The 5-star City Plaza Hotel in Cluj-Napoca, owned by businessman Laurentiu Russo, will affiliate with the international Hilton chain under the DoubleTree by Hilton brand, according to market sources.
The unit features 85 rooms and suites situated across five levels, restaurants, conference rooms, and a relaxation center with a pool, fitness room, jacuzzi, and Finnish sauna.
In 2015, the Cluj hotel recorded a turnover of over 11 million RON, an occupancy rate of 72%, and an average of 80 employees.
“This year, City Plaza Hotel entered a general renovation process, which is taking place in several stages and aims for conversion to an international hotel chain. These renovation works will not affect the schedule of events planned to be organized at City Plaza in any way, as a new event hall and a bar are to be set up,” said Dafina Suciu, marketing manager at City Plaza, without specifying the international hotel chain the hotel will affiliate with.
