In the summer of last year, over 5,300 foreign tourists arrived via charter flights at the Mihail Kogalniceanu Airport in Constanta, most of them being Austrians, French, and Israelis, and for this year, flights with tourists from France, Israel, and Belarus have already been announced.
Bogdan Ionut Artagea, the general manager of Mihail Kogalniceanu International Airport, stated that in 2014, in terms of international commercial traffic, the airport recorded a number of 783 aircraft movements, of which 366 were scheduled traffic movements, and 417 were commercial movements recorded from external charter flights, as well as general aviation traffic.
Last year, 17,569 passengers arrived on scheduled flights operated by Turkish Airlines.

– Air Niki – 1,742 tourists from Austria
– Blue Air – 1.326 tourists from Israel
– Travel Service – 568 tourists from France,
– Belavia – 450 tourists from Belarus,
– SAS – 113 tourists from Norway
– Denim A/L – 92 tourists from Denmark
– Braathens Regional AB – 35 tourists from Sweden.
Bogdan Ionut Artagea specified that for this summer, charter flights have been announced by Europe Airpost, Belavia, and Blue Air, but the list of operators remains open.
Of the 1.9 million foreigners who arrived in Romania last year, the majority went to Bucharest and county seat cities; 132,014 went to the mountains, while only 31,325 tourists reached the seaside, and only 13,482 reached the Delta. Most of the foreigners who arrived at the seaside were Germans – 5,155, Americans – 4,229, French – 2,516, and Poles – 2,180.
