CFR Călători tests program for on-board ticket purchasing

Soon, train passengers might be able to purchase tickets directly on the train following the implementation of a project aimed at combating fare evasion. Adrian Vlaicu, the Strategy Director of CFR Călători, stated that the project is already being tested on the four high-speed trains traveling to the Black Sea.
In practice, the train conductor will have a tablet and a printer to issue travel documents for passengers who did not purchase tickets in advance. The printer is thermal and does not use consumables. The ticket issued on the train contains all travel details, including distance, destination, and price.
