CFR Călători Reintroduces Sun and Youth Trains for the Summer Season

Starting June 12, the “Sun Trains” (Trenurile Soarelui) have returned to service, providing connections from across the country to the Black Sea resorts and the Danube Delta. These trains will operate until September 15.
New for this season, tourists from Craiova will have a direct train to Constanța and back, while those from Brașov will have two direct trains available.
Regarding fares, passengers can travel at reduced prices by taking advantage of offers from CFR Călători. For instance, the price for a one-way Bucharest – Constanța trip, without discounts, is 30.50 RON for a Regio train and 62 RON for an InterRegio train. A round-trip ticket receives a 10% discount on the transport fare, costing 54.9 RON for 2nd class on Regio and 112.40 RON on InterRegio. For purchases made more than 21 days in advance, the discount is 25% of the transport fare, with a 2nd class ticket costing 47.5 RON for an IR train and 22.9 RON for an R train.
With the Minigrup 2-5 offer, discounts of up to 25% are granted, reaching 30% for online purchases.
Also included in this program are the “Youth Trains” (Trenurile Tineretului), which entered service on June 18 as RegioExpres trains with affordable fares. They depart Sibiu at 18:40, Râmnicu Vâlcea at 21:02, Pitești at 00:55, and Bucharest North at 03:00, arriving in Constanța at 06:14 (including resorts) and Mangalia at 08:02. For the return trip, the train departs Mangalia and the resorts at 18:16, Constanța at 20:05, and Bucharest North at 23:10, arriving in Pitești at 01:17, Râmnicu Vâlcea at 04:49, and Sibiu at 07:22.
Additionally, to facilitate tourist access to the Danube Delta, an additional direct InterRegio train will run on the Bucharest North – Tulcea City route and back.
