Bulgaria: 10% increase in tourism revenue in 2019

Bulgaria’s revenues from foreign tourists increased slightly, by 0.4%, in 2019 to EUR 3.7 billion.
According to recorded data, in December 2019, international tourism revenues exceeded EUR 165 million, an increase of 10% compared to the same month of 2018.
Also, for the whole of last year, approximately 9.3 million foreign tourists visited Bulgaria, an increase of 0.4% compared to 2018. 
According to data provided by the National Statistical Institute (NSI) of Bulgaria, in 2019, the most tourists came from Romania – 1.287 million, Greece (1.168 million), Germany (761,000), Turkey (649,000), North Macedonia (554,200), Ukraine (471,100), and the United Kingdom (470,000).
