Blue Air Opens Sixth Operational Base at Cluj-Napoca International Airport

Low-cost airline Blue Air has opened its sixth operational base at “Avram Iancu” International Airport in Cluj-Napoca, by allocating a Boeing 737-800 aircraft with a capacity of 189 seats.
Starting December 16, 2016, Blue Air will operate on the Cluj-Napoca – Birmingham route, and from next year it will have direct flights from Cluj to London, Larnaca, Nice, Hamburg, and Constanta.
The company also has operational bases in Bucharest, Iasi, Bacau, Larnaca, and Turin.
Next year, Blue Air will also open operational bases in Constanta, starting April 27, 2017, and Liverpool, starting March 26, 2017.
Local authorities hope that Blue Air’s new operational base will bring more traffic to the Cluj airport, the second largest in Romania after Otopeni.
