The number of seaside bookings has tripled following President Klaus Iohannis’s announcement that Romanians will be able to go to the beach starting June 1st, according to data from the Litoralulromanesc.ro agency.
The number of bookings made in the second half of May 28th was practically three times higher than on any of the previous days. Requests came from Romanians across the entire country, stated Ionut Nedea, General Manager of Litoralulromanesc.ro.
“We expect the growth trend to intensify in the coming weeks and, somehow, to return to last year’s levels after June 15th. Even if there is pressure regarding demand, rates will not be increased,” Ionut Nedea added.
For the first half of June, in the Mamaia resort, a room in a 2-star hotel can be booked starting from 113 RON/night, at 3 stars – from 115 RON/night and at 4 stars from 212 RON/night.
In the other resorts, rates for one night’s accommodation start from 81 RON for a 2-star hotel and from 100 RON for a 3-star one.
