„Out of all the searches performed on the momondo.ro website, Barcelona is the most desired holiday destination for this summer. And when we talk about the type of vacation, a few days spent on the beach are in the plans of 69% of Romanians. Moreover, among other destinations with a Latin flavor searched for this summer are Rome, Lisbon, and Tenerife,” stated the marketing director of momondo Romania, Mircea Giurca.
Also, Romanians are interested in discovering a destination that has been less explored until now: the southernmost city in Portugal, Faro, which has the highest growth in searches, 490%, in 2017.
Romanians’ summer vacation lasts an average of 9 days, a much shorter period compared to that of travelers from Nordic countries or Western Europe, which is 13-16 days.
Specialists recommend booking flights and hotels in advance, as flights booked 56 days in advance are cheaper, and many hotels offer discounts to those who book early.
