Bakers and Confectioners Challenged to Create the Most Innovative Bread and Tastiest Cake!
The Bread and Cake of the Year 2015 trophies are just part of the awards to be presented at the GastroPan Competitions, the largest domestic competition where bakers, confectioners, and chefs from all corners of the country compete.

Alongside the stands of the 130 Romanian and foreign exhibitors who will present the full range of solutions and technologies for profile businesses, the GastroPan exhibition hosts the competitions of the same name, where the most innovative products that will establish themselves on the market are revealed.
An unprecedented variety on the market will be the Bread of the Year 2015
Bakers from all corners of the country are challenged to produce the most innovative bread, a new variety, not yet commercialized, but which respects current consumer nutrition trends and simultaneously adapts to local specifics and domestic tastes. An independent jury, composed of specialists from the baking industry, will decide which variety deserves the title of Bread of the Year 2015, after analyzing several factors such as organoleptic properties (shape, appearance, crumb and crust structure, aroma) or innovative character.
The recipe of the winning product will be promoted among all producers in the country, thus the bakery that produced the bread gains notoriety, and consumers across the country gain access to a new variety of bread.
The tastiest and most original cake will be the Cake of the Year 2015
In the competition for designating the Cake of the Year 2015, taste and originality will make the difference. Dozens of confectioners from the country are expected to surpass their talents by entering the competition with the tastiest cakes, obtained from original recipes. In addition to these two basic criteria, the jury will also analyze the quality of the layers, the degree of soaking, the composition of the creams, the ingredients used, their healthy character, but also the harmony between the decorative elements and the cake’s decor.
The confectionery shop that wins the Cake of the Year 2015 trophy will enjoy a media promotion campaign, while the winning recipe can be adopted by all interested confectionery laboratories.
The GastroPan Competitions are organized by the non-profit PanGastRo Association, with the aim of boosting the market by encouraging innovation, supporting the growth of quality and diversity of bakery, confectionery, and gastronomy products, and promoting talents in the field.
