The hotel market in Baia Mare is going through an active period, marked by new investment opportunities and transactions in the historic center. The Urban Hotel, a recently inaugurated three-star establishment, has been placed on the real estate trading market at a price of EUR 1.7 million. This move comes at a time when other iconic properties in the city, such as the Diafan Hotel, are also undergoing changes of ownership, strengthening the dynamics of the hospitality sector in the region.
The Urban Hotel, located in a building that previously functioned as the textile workshop of the “Unirea” Craftsmen’s Cooperative Society, has undergone a five-year rehabilitation process ahead of its opening in 2022. The building has a useful built area of 930 square meters, is structured on two floors and attic, and offers a capacity of 21 rooms. The company that manages the unit is owned by associates Cristian Marius Marc, Florin Moldovan, Raoul Arthur Popescu (each with 28%) and Radu Moldovan (16%). Financially, the company ended 2024 with a turnover of approximately EUR 300 thousand (RON 1.53 million) and a net profit of around EUR 57 thousand (RON 291,622), but with reported debts of EUR 671 thousand (RON 3.42 million).
