Arrivals registered in tourist reception structures in August 2015 totaled 1,420.1 thousand, an increase of 18.1% compared to the same period in 2014. Of these, 80.7% represented arrivals of Romanian tourists and 19.3% represented arrivals of foreign tourists.
Regarding arrivals of foreign tourists in tourist reception structures, the largest share was held by those from Europe – 75.1% of total foreign tourists, and of these, 87.5% were from European Union countries.
Overnight stays registered in tourist reception structures in August this year totaled 3,985.7 thousand, an increase of 14.3% compared to those in August 2014. Of these, 86.6% represented overnight stays of Romanian tourists and 13.4% represented overnight stays of foreign tourists.
